After waiting for several months now, it seems that the ASUS EeeKeyboard is now available for American consumers, whereby you can place your pre-order on Amazon.com, effective today. Generally, the ASUS EeeKeyboard created a storm when it was first introduced just a couple of months ago, but to my dismay, the company failed to meet their schedule in delivering the final product to the market.
Nevertheless, Amazon has already placed a price-tag on the ASUS EeeKeyboard, whereby you’ll have to fork out $599 to purchase one. On the other hand, the ASUS EeeKeyboard will be equipped with a 1.6GHz Atom N270 CPU, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 1GB of DDR2 memory, gigabit Ethernet jack, Bluetooth 2.1, Windows XP Home, 16GB SSD, HDMI out, 3x USB 2.0 ports, integrated UWB receiver, and a 5-inch LED-backlit multi-touch display.
Surely, I find $599 to be pretty steep for an Atom based computer, so you might want to think twice before placing an order for the ASUS EeeKeyboard.
